Crowned Heads La Coalicion

Crafted by Jon Huber of Crowned Heads and Willy Herrera of Drew Estate, the La Coalicion has swept us away with its brilliant construction, flavor, and overall greatness. After being manufactured by La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, the La Coalicion debuted at the 2019 IPCPR trade show, Huber and Herrera created a four vitola line for the La Coalicion and each size is tasty and unique in their own way.

The La Coalicion in the Gordito size has a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Sumatra binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. This full-bodied smoke has an assortment of flavor notes that include cocoa, leather, sweet spice, and pepper. If you plan on enjoying the La Coalicion Gordito by Crowned Heads on the 4th, I suggest lighting it up after some coffee and dessert. The sweetness from the smoke will be a perfect nightcap.

Arturo Fuente Anejo Reserva #55

Grown at the Chateau Fuente farm, the Arturo Fuente Anejo Reserva #55 is an extremely limited and rare cigar that is hard to find. Lucky for you, we have included it in this week’s sampler. What makes this cigar so unique is that it uses the same tobaccos for the filler as the Opus X and is only released twice a year.

Wrapped in a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, with the binder and filler from the Dominican Republic, the Anejo Reserva #55 is aged in cognac barrels for five years before being released to the public. This full-bodied smoke has flavor notes of black pepper, cocoa, earth, and dried fruit. Once you’ve enjoyed a few hours of swimming, and have scarfed down a burger or two, I’d light up the Arturo Fuente Anejo Reserva #55 and soak in the sun.

CAO Gold Maduro

Leave it to CAO to mix things up and ends up turning out to be a worldwide success. The CAO Gold Maduro is a darker rendition of the popular gold series. The wrapper on the Gold Series was this silky blonde Ecuador Connecticut leaf. But founder Ricky Rodriguez decided to take the challenge upon himself to switch things up.

In true CAO fashion, The Gold Maduro in the Robusto size is cloaked in a dark wrapper that hails from Brazil. While the tobaccos that make up the binder are from Nicaragua and the fillers tobaccos come from Honduras and Nicaragua. The creamy, smooth notes the CAO Gold Maduro provides are a mixture of chocolate, coffee, cedar, leather, and raisins. Starting your July 4th festivities off with the medium-bodied Gold Maduro from CAO may be your best bet!

Mi Querida Triqui Traca 552

The meaning of the name behind our next cigar is Nicaraguan slang for “firecrackers tied together”. We could not pass up an opportunity to smoke a firecracker of a cigar on the 4th of July! The Mi Querida Triqui Traca has made our lists multiple times and we still cannot get enough of this cigar from master blender Steve Saka and Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust.

Wrapped in a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, with a Nicaraguan Binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, this full-bodied smoke will blow your taste buds away. The flavors that the Triqui Traca will unleash while you smoke on it are red pepper, espresso, oak, chocolate, and cinnamon. I’ve personally enjoyed this cigar while floating in the pool, so I recommend you do the same!

Ramon Allones by AJ Fernandez

AJ Fernandez used his amazing blending skills to create a modern spin on this classic Cuban heritage brand that is the Ramon Allones. Ramon Allones was AJ Fernandez’s father’s favorite smoke when they lived in Cuba, so it is only fitting that AJ spared no expense at re-creating this wonderful cigar. Another fun fact about the original Ramon Allones is that this was the first handmade cigar to feature a band on it. This whole smoke is filled with a rich history that cannot be overshadowed.

The Ramon Allones by AJ Fernandez is cloaked in a Nicaraguan Habano Wrapper, with vintage Nicaragua Corojo 99 binder and filler tobaccos. The Ramon Allones is a medium to full-bodied cigar that has phenomenal notes of cedar, earth, cashews, espresso, and spice. The complex blends that make up this smoke will be a perfect mid-day smoke while you and your family are enjoying some 4th of July activities.
