Brick House Cigars

In 1937, Julius Ceaser  Newman, the patriarch of the famous  JC Newman brand launched Brick House; a genuine  Cuban puro cigar made with a clear Havana wrapper, that’s now mostly referred to as Candela. This green colored leaf was used to tone down the strength of Cuban cigars and is sparingly used on many of the non-Cuban brands on the market today.

Then, in 2009  while waxing nostalgic,  third-generation owners Eric and Bobby Newman relaunched  Brick House cigars using a rare Havana Subido wrapper paired with perfectly-aged Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos.  Beautifully rolled,  and brimming with rich, easygoing flavors of earth, cedar, spice,  coffee, and sweet tobacco, the brand quickly became a smash hit among mellow to medium-bodied cigar enthusiasts.

A very short time later, riding on the heels of the original Brick Houses’ overwhelming success, the Newman brothers decided to fill the void for seasoned smokers looking for a bolder blend, hence the Brick House Maduro cigars were born.

To create this darker and spicier Brick House, they replaced the original Havana Subido wrapper, with a Brazilian Maduro leaf, while still retaining the Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The result was a bold medium to full-bodied smoke with robust flavors of black pepper and earth, backed by savory notes of chocolate, dried fruit, and caramel.

Whichever Brick House cigar style that you choose, you can count on top-notch construction and consistently great taste from one smoke to the next, all backed by a storied family with 125 years of cigarmaking expertise.
