La Vieja Habana Corojo Cigars

Shortly after Jonathan Drew founded Drew Estate cigars, he decided to think outside of the box and turn the cigar world upside down with his then, brand-new line of ACID cigars.  These truly one-of-a-kind premium cigars brought a new spin to the cigar industry by using unique tobacco blends and infusing them with special herbs, spices, and essential oils. However, his very first blend was not ACID, but rather a non-aromatic line called La Vieja Habana, which was introduced in 1996.

These value-priced cigars remained enormously popular until  1998 when production was stopped due to devastating hurricanes in Nicaragua. Years later, this highly regarded brand rose from the ashes to be reborn in a new factory in the heart of Estelí, Nicaragua.

Today, this born-again lineup encompasses various shade wrappers that cover Cuban “sandwich” long and short filler tobaccos from the fertile  Estelí and Jalapa Valley growing regions in Nicaragua.

The most noteworthy of them all— since it’s the original blend –  is the La Vieja Habana Corojo cigars that use a stunning reddish-brown Cuban Corojo leaf from Nicaragua, over the above mixed long and short filler leaves.

La Vieja Habana Corojo cigars are medium to full-bodied smokes that deliver rich, complex flavors of leather, cocoa, spice, citrus, and hints of dried fruit. These perfectly balanced tasting notes are delivered with a such an incredibly slow and even burn, you’ll swear you are a smoking a high-end handmade premium cigar!  You can credit this stellar performance to the highly skilled artisans at Drew Estate that were carefully chosen for their unrivaled rolling skills.
